SU Biomedicine obtains European Regional Development Fund (EFRO) grant for “Natural Intelligence in Health” project

In October 2022, Vivaltes B.V. and SU Biomedicine B.V. jointly applied for European Regional Development Fund (EFRO) grant. In January 2023, EFRO project proposal entitled “Natural Intelligence in Health” was  approved  for 4 years (2023-2026) by the European commission. The aim of this innovative project is to develop and validate the Artificial Intelligence platform to unlock natural resources for the Phyto-pharmaceutical and food industries. In total, seven Dutch project partners (Vivaltes B.V., SU Biomedicine B.V., Universiteit Utrecht, FytagoLife B.V., Single Cell Discoveries B.V., Agrobrains B.V., and Principelle B.V.) work together to integrate Artificial Intelligence with laboratory research and the work encompasses the entire route from small molecules to biological effects. SU Biomedicine B.V. will be involved in investigating the safety of Chinese herbal medicines and create a learning system in which the safety data can be obtained from practices.

SU Biomedicine obtains Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation grant for “the development & discovery of Novel Active Ingredients (AI) from Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)” project

In October 2022, as the partner, SU Biomedicine B.V. together with Landcent Group jointly obtained a Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation grant for Phase II of the project entitled “the development & discovery of Novel Active Ingredients (AI) from Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)” The project is approved for 4 years (October 2023 – October 2026) by Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle, USA. The aim of this innovative project is to develop and discover Novel Active Ingredients (AI) from Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) libraries for insecticides and other potential solutions to overcome growing vector resistance to existing insecticides. There are four international partners, Landcent Group, SU Biomedicine B.V., Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry (SIOC) and China Disease Control and Prevention (China-CDC), work together to unlock the unique values of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for tackling the growing vector resistance to existing insecticides. SU Biomedicine B.V. is involved in scientific coordination and evaluating the potential lead compounds based on safety and bioactivity analysis, investigating the synergistic effects and mode of actions of selected lead compounds.
